Sweet and sour porkchops
  • 4 pork chops
  • 3/4 cup tomato juice
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1/4 tsp. ground cloves
  • 1 tblsp. vinegar
  • small bay leaf
  • salt and pepper

Brown pork chops in a small amount of fat. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and place in a two quart oven proof casserole. Combine remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Pour over chops. Cover and bake in a moderate oven (350 °F) until chops are tender (1 - 1 1/2 hours)
